- Wild
Equus magnus appears to exist an ancestor of the modernistic horse. Based on its stripes, information technology may be the African variant of Equus giganteus, which appeared in North America during the Water ice Age, simply that is pure conjecture. Its behavior in the wild is like to that of other wild members of the Equus genus - information technology sustains itself by grazing, while keeping safe from predators by living in herds and outrunning its attackers via superior speed and stamina.
- Domesticated
Horse and human take long been partners in survival, and this remains true on the Isle. In Equus, survivors volition find a trusty steed or pack brute that tin carry them swiftly across land. Taming an Equus has proven interesting, requiring advisedly budgeted the brute in the wild, mounting information technology, and so carefully soothing over time by feeding it vegetables. In fact, Equus' reliability has pb some survivors to construct special saddles for them. I fifty-fifty encountered a man who added extra saddle-pouches that doubled as mobile crafting stations for chemical supplies, foodstuffs, and other items. Although not as robust as what you might find within a village, this utility helped him live a nomadic, solitary lifestyle. Some survivors employ Equus to herd and wrangle other creatures with a specialized lasso. This tool is sometimes constructive for cocky-defense as well, as Equus is limited in battle on its own...at least compared to ambitious prehistoric carnivores.
„
Behavior
The Equus volition trot around the island and poses no threat to any survivors. If a histrion gets near one, they will flee. If you wish to get near one to tame, use a Ghillie Suit. Overall their behavior is similar to that of modern wild horses.
Appearance
The Equus appears similar a mixture of zebra and a large modern breed of domestic horse. Information technology has a long wild mane, zebra like stripes, a tail similar a horse and a shaggy beard like a goat's. From the dossier information technology appears to be comparable to larger horse breeds in terms of size, such equally the Shire horse.
Colour Scheme and Regions
This section displays the Equus's natural colors and regions. For demonstration, the regions below are colored red over an albino Equus. The colored squares shown underneath each region's clarification are the colors that the Equus will randomly spawn with to provide an overall range of its natural color scheme. Hover your cursor over a color to brandish its proper noun and ID.
This information tin can be used to alter the Equus's regions by entering cheat SetTargetDinoColor <ColorRegion> <ColorID> in the cheat console. For case, crook SetTargetDinoColor 0 6 would color the Equus's "torso" magenta.

Unicorn (Variant)
The Unicorn is a variant of the Equus distinguished by its white coloring and the horn protruding from its forehead. Simply one wild Unicorn may be at a fourth dimension. Once tamed, some other Unicorn may spawn in its place, as the tamed Unicorns no longer cake wild spawns. Players can use cross server transfer to notice other Unicorns to brood with. They can exist transferred to Aberration maps as well. Unicorns can breed with other Unicorns, but they can not breed with an Equus.
In ARK: Survival Evolved Mobile, the Unicorn has some noticeable differences.

Wild Stats Level-up
Type in values of a wild creature to see on which stats information technology'south emphasized. Green values on a high-level beast are very good for convenance. If you have already tamed your animate being y'all tin try to recover the breeding stats with an external tool.[1]
Equus
The stat-calculator does not piece of work in the mobile-view, see here for alternatives: Apps
Notation that later on the creature is tamed it gets bonuses on some stats depending on the taming effectiveness. This makes it difficult to remember the levels on a tamed creature, and so this tool is only for wild ones, but gives a showtime impression, how well the stats are distributed.
Combat
Full general
The Equus is a useful early game tame. It's fast and deals torpor with its buck attack and then you can tame other creatures early game.
Strategy
Equus are a passive creature that when startled, will attempt to abscond. Bolas and any kind of ranged/curt range weapon is effective at stopping and killing them along with most tames.
Weaponry
Bolas are effective against the Equus. By and large every other weapon is also effective. If an opponent is running at you using an Equus, you can place spikes as Equus may glitch and accept a ton of spike damage at once causing them to dice.
Dangers
The Equus itself doesn't announced to present any immediate threat. Predators nearby are your biggest worry, as focusing on the tame or kill may distract y'all from your environment. If you attempt at taming it, it may boot you and ready your torpor immediately at 50%, leaving you unable to defend yourself against nearby predators around. The Equus may pose a threat in PVP as information technology can quickly transport your enemy, and bargain torpor to y'all, perchance knocking you lot out.
Weakness
Most weaponry or creatures should be able to kill them without much trouble - provided you can go along up with it.
Taming
All numbers in these charts are inaccurate every bit of now. Yet demand more testing before saying by how much with any accuracy. For now have at least ten extra Kibble for Kibble tames so as not to be under and lose the tame due to having to spring off. (update: a 150 Equus requires 31 Troodon Kibble to tame. Times announced to be the same though only a longer total because of the extra feeding intervals)
In ARK: Survival Evolved Mobile, the Equus is tamed with
Kibble (Dilo Egg).
Note that the values are for optimal cases, always bring actress supplies!
For a level-dependent count of resources needed, attempt an external taming calculator.
Preferred Nutrient
Taming Strategy
The Equus requires a unique non-violent taming method. Like most non-violent tames, the chosen food must be placed in the far right hotbar slot. Like the Tapejara, the Equus is a timid animate being and will flee when startled. If a trapping/immobilizing method is not used, it is recommended to use a Ghillie suit and duck when approaching the Equus to reduce the chance that information technology will run. If Rockarrot is the food detail in your hotbar, when close enough to feed it, "Feed Rockarrot to tame." will appear to a higher place the Equus. Press E to feed the Equus 1 food item and then press E over again to mount it. The Equus must be mounted to continue the taming procedure.
Afterwards successfully mounting the Equus, an outcome
depicting a hand belongings a lasso around a bunch of
Amarberries volition appear in the lower right corner of the HUD. When the Equus begins to buck, the effect's icon
volition illuminate and include text to alarm the histrion to press East to avert existence forcefully dismounted. The icon will blink a couple of times and and then the player will be dismounted if East is non pressed in time. Avoid spamming E because pressing it more than in one case volition dismount the player. If the histrion dismounts, whether by error or by failing to feed the Equus at the appropriate fourth dimension, the Equus volition boot the player once causing Torpidity. If the player's Fortitude is insufficient, the player will exist knocked out for a brief menstruum. Each time the player is forcefully dismounted, the taming effectiveness will be decreased.
During the taming process, the Equus volition exist uncontrollable and may encompass a large area. It will tend to gallop kickoff in the direction information technology's facing before changing direction, and may run off of cliffs or into water. If at that place are any predators in the surface area, the interference may reduce taming efficiency or cause the loss of the Equus. If the Equus swims in water for long plenty the actor volition be dismounted and unable to remount.
Grabbing the Equus with an
Argentavis,
Megalosaurus,
Karkinos, or
Quetzal and dropping it into a premade trap structure is the most secure method of taming while preserving a high taming effectiveness. A
Bola tin be used for temporary immobilization simply it is recommended to rapidly build an enclosure around the Equus in instance it breaks the bola and runs away before existence knocked out. If this happens, the player runs the risk of the Equus being killed by a hostile dinosaur or fleeing into a trunk of water and dying due to
Piranha or drowning from passing out while all the same in the h2o. Another role player with an Equus and a
Lasso tin exist used to secure the Equus for the duration of the taming procedure. A
Behave Trap can be used to immobilize the Equus but this will negatively affect the taming effectiveness.
If the taming procedure is incomplete and the taming effectiveness has been drastically reduced, the entire process can be restarted by knocking the Equus out. This will reset the taming effectiveness.
Utility
Roles
- Aberration Jack of All Trades: High Weight, very loftier stamina and extremely low stamina consumption, high speed and health make the Equus your Jack of All trades on maps with no flyers such as Aberration, as well as having amend stats than most early game mounts such equally a

Rockarrots and tame a horse. - Knock-Out: The boot of a well-bred Equus is to be feared and respected; with a torpor inducing assault that scales with its melee harm, a horse can apace outpace most other tranquilizing methods. This can make the Equus an invaluable tool for both taming and combat scenarios. However, beware that the impairment from the kick can possibly kill your potential taming target or decrease taming effectiveness if the target is kicked after it has been knocked unconscious. To make it even easier, Bolas can be thrown from the equus caballus'due south back to immobilize your target, be it a fleeing prey animate being or an aggressive predator. For this role, level primarily Wellness and Melee Harm. (default: Rmb ,

- Scout: The Equus' speed tin can make it a very feasible lookout man for sneaking into other actor'south bases, provided there is a hole which it can fit through.
- Pet: The Equus' size is good enough to fit in a base, so keeping one for companionship is okay just not strategically useful.
- Carrier: The Equus reduces the weight of many items, so packing lots of cementing paste, chitin, and many other items can be useful for a walking mortar and pestle.
- Escape Vehicle: With their amazing speed the Equus is a great way to outrun threats that are to tough to fight or threats that outnumber the player.
